No sound with new Sony HU in 1995 Lincoln Continental

I bought a Sony head unit, and a Scosche FDk-106 wire harness (matches this car). I connected the wires from the Sony harness to the Scosche harness, and then plugged the 2 connectors from the car into the Scosche harness. The Sony HU turns on when I turn the key, as it should, but I get no sound from the radio, CD or Aux. I blast the volume, try fading forward and balancing left and right. Nothing. So, I disconnected everything and went over the wiring again very carefully. I noticed that the blue and blue + white wires weren't connected (antenna and amp), so I connected them as they should be. Still nothing. To test if I shorted anything, I plugged my factory radio back in and I got sound.

I don't have the Premium Sound package, so I don't think there is an amp to worry about. In fact, I don't even have the small square black amp plug coming from the car. I only have the wide gray plug for main power and what-not and the larger square plug for the speakers and antenna. The small black plug that is associated with the amp is non-existent.

I even went right back to the store and exchanged the head unit, thinking it was defective but I got the same result. No sound. Do I have an amp even though I don't have an amp plug? According to Scosche, unless I have the premium sound package (I don't), I only need the FDK-106 harness. How do I know if I have an amp, even though it seems as though I don't? I even have the blue wires connected, which are supposed to communicate with the amp when there is one.

I am stumped.

When I connect the blue and white striped wire from the Scosche harness to the Sony harness and plug everything in, I still get no sound. Also, there is no amp bypass harness for this car since it doesn't have the amp connector. I dont think it has an amp.

Ok, I decided that since I could not find anything that helps, including trying to cross the amp switch wire to the antenna wire, that I would just rewire the car and install new speakers. I hooked up the new speakers to the head unit, and omfg the soundstage in this Lincoln is really brought to life. And that's with just the 2 6x8" in the front replaced (Panasonic 240 watt speakers, 40w RMS). Bass is much boomier and deep, highs are much more crisp and the mids are clear and accurate. God, I should have just rewired from the start.
