My friend, who has been installing car audio and alarms for years now, ATTEMPTED to install my subwoofers, amp, and high to low converter today.
We hooked up everything correctly EXCEPT for the possibility that we screwed up on the high low converter. (I am 99.9% sure all the wiring is correct except the high low). We tapped the high low converter into my rear left speaker, and connected it to the amp, but we are not getting any sound coming out of the subwoofers at all. Is it possible that we switched the wires accidently? What happens if i try to switch it? There is power to the amp, and when I look very closely, it seems as if the subwoofers ARE moving, but very lightly (about 1mm of movement!)
What can the problem be? I drive a 2005 Honda Accord EX-V6 Coupe, running 2 10" Audiobahn subwoofers and a PPI 440 watt 5-channel aplifier.
I really don't know a single thing about car audio, which lead me to register and create a thread, hopefully somebody can help me out. I'd really like to get this sound system working. I will take pictures and edit this in a few minutes.
These are my two 10" Audiobahns.
Here are the settings for my amp.
Here is my piece of crap high to low converter
The wires go to here
And here are my wires that are connected to my rear left speaker, which is connected to the high to low converter
Yeah, it's a big mess.
