No power to head unit

Something in my gut was telling me there was a reason I took this out and bought the alpine cda9855 to put in my old accord other than wanting to have the newest best unit. I just couldn't remember for sure, and figured if I hung on to the pioneer it must have still been good.

I'm just gonna scrap it now and spring for a new unit.

Ya, I hang onto alot of old stuff too that I always think Ill repair it, or get it repaired, later dont remember, power it up, and get disappointed pretty quick, and generally trash it at that time,so I dont get enthused the next time.Id check Sonic out,or Crutchfield, you get some extras on some units.

What would you recommend for best sound quality from factory. Speakers will still be factory, not Bose. I really want a USB or auxiliary as I want to use my iPhone to play music, also listen to the radio a lot. I never use cd's so if getting a non CD player gives better value that's definitely an option.

I lean more towards alpine's because they've been my favorite in the past. I'm looking to spend around $200
