I have a 2000 Saturn SL and i wired my new Pioneer deck in to my "92-up GM universal wiring harness." Now I have everything plugged in and wired but my deck doesnt receive power so it doesnt boot up. The only idea i have is its the wrong wiring harness but it fits just fine and should work. any ideas?

do u have a test light ? check the constant and ign to see if it lights up?

make sure u have a good ground.....

check fuses on radio and car for the radio....

make sure the antenna wire is on it..... sometimes that is a ground as well and wont work with out it.

how would i do all that Im pretty much a noob but im smart enough to figure wire to wire plug to plug lol

also the shop system still gets power

You don't need a light to check fuses. Just pull them out and see if they are burned out. The metal piece inside will be broken.
yep, i meant the light more just to make sure that the acc and the constant are correct.

start with ur fuses first then if they are all good then see if u can get ur hands on a test light.

to use the test light ground the part with the alligator clip and then put the part with the point on it to the yellow wire on your wire harness ( with the car off ) if it lights up then that is correct

to check the acc do the same as above but with the red wire and the key turned to the on position. if that lights up too then that is correct as well.

i believe this is the wiring to ur car :

Constant 12V+ Orange

Switched 12V+ Yellow

Ground Black

Illumination Gray

Dimmer Brown

Antenna Right Front

Front Speakers 6 1/2" Doors

Left Front (+) Tan

Left Front (-) Gray

Right Front (+) Light Green

Right Front (-) Dark Green

Rear Speakers 6 1/2" Rear Deck

Left Rear (+) Brown

Left Rear (-) Yellow

Right Rear (+) Dark Blue

Right Rear (-) Light Blue

now see if the yellow wire on ur aftermarket harness matches with the orange of the cars

and see if the red from ur aftermarket harness matches with the yellow of the cars.
