No output from the Mag

So earlier today I finished putting my Mag in. It's being powered by an Orion XTR1000. I was driving over to a friend's house when suddenly there was no output from the sub. Got to my friends, opened the trunk, and the sub was popping. It sounds somewhat mechanical, but theres no movement from the sub, nor is there any output. I'm not sure if the amp was clipping or what, but the output before it stopped was unremarkable to say the least, and the gain was pretty high. Any ideas on why this is happening?

That's what happened^^

Yes, whoever said that amp was clipping would be wrong. When an amp is clipping there would be substantial output from the speaker and a distorted sound , not popping and no output.

I just noticed theres a slight ticking coming from the amp...doesn't sound normal.

Also, when I first heard the popping, I immediately smelt the sub and it didn't sound like anything was burning. I think I'm gonna take the sub out to check the vc but I wanna make sure it's not the amp.

sounds like you've fried the amp somehow. had on that did the same thing. was playing fine, than the only thing it would do would pop the sub like you said. this was over ten years ago when i was sixteen. dont remember what amp it was, but sounds like the same problem. swaped amps, and everything was fine.

Yeah, I'm thinking thats it, too. Just checked the coils, both 1.7. Everything looks good. The amp is ticking very oddly.
