No Obsidians for 3 months....

Just checked, and it looks like OA is started their work on v2 of their 15's and they won't be arriving for almost 3 months, and I can't wait that long for a sub, since I'm selling my system.

I already have a ported box planned out, it will be 3.3cu feel tuned to 32hz, and this time its an appropriate sized box, steele18 helped me out with that.

Question is what sub should I put in that box? Budgets around 200ish bucks.

I've been looking at a SA-15, and a SSA GCON 15, slightly out of my budget, but whatever.

Any other recommendations for subs? I'll be throwing them around 750ish watts. Need something that has better low end extention than the OA, because I like the lows alot!

Maybe somebody has some REALLY good condition used stuff that I could possibally buy? Has to be D4 though! I have a 1ohm stable ASPM1500, but I'd like to avoid wiring down to 1ohm if possible..

hit up @hispls ; he builds great subs for that price. I'm VERY happy with how loud mine gets while maintaining sq.

Ask around about the soundsplinter. I've never heard a bad thing about them. If its out of your range pm me and maybe we can make something work

Didn't you have an OA15 on a ASPM1500 a couple months back? Are you saying your new custom sub is better than that?? Because if thats the case, then I'll definitely have to give him a holler!

I am quite interested in your sub, only problem is that it is a little bit out of my budget..I am looking for $200ish shipped, and I don't want to rip you off, since you have a sub that can get more..

I have same/similar motor and coil as the Soundsplinter. Soundsplinter has the aluminum cone which is quite nice for music, but adds cost and sacrifices a little efficiency.

Really the TC9 motor is a fantastic platform for good output and being musical. Very versitile and has been used on a lot of well regarded woofers.

box is 3.3 cubes tuned at 32 hz with 39.875sq inches of port (2 3/4" x 14.5" port dimensions)

Was originally built for my future OA15 but thats kind of out of the picture now :p
