My buddy received his kx600 back from kicker. It had to be repaired. Got it back today and hooked it up and it played fine all day until just a little bit ago when the subs stopped playing. Checked all the connections...everything looks fine. Amp is powered on and NOT in protect.

Only thing I can really think of is somethin to do with the RCAs because when I unplug and plug in the rca cables there isnt a pop like there usually is.

Any help?

ya well you should know to keep trying everything for little while usually this works lol all i can think of could be anything... smell it lol

yeah i dont think anything fried. like I said the amp just got back from kicker today...and its not going into protect. and both subs stopped working. I doubt if they were to blow that they would blow at the exact same time.

today my lil truck i was riding to the store and smelled something blew type s 10 went got buddys woofer to hold me over... hooked it up nothing same as you say not in protect then i smell the amp where the speaker inputs are and fried bad horrible smell its lil p300.1 blew em both dont understand how but its pretty gay

Throw a volt meter on the power ground wires going to the amp, see if its getting power, same with Rca's, and after those the speaker leads (while still connected to the amp). If that doesn't work, check fuses

Already checked all the fuses. Amp is getting power because its turning on and staying on perfectly.

I agree with anni. But if you are getting a green light power and ground is fine. But test the rest. Honestly to me sounds like blown Rca's . Now whether on the head unit or amp. That is where you need to test. I have seen many amps blow with no protection light and most of the time the Rca inputs

I wont be able to test anything until next week. Hes out of town right now. It would really **** if the amp messed up the day it got back from kicker.

What setting do I need to put the voltmeter on to test the RCAs and speaker outputs?

Anni..... DC on the rca..... If they are conducting the signal to produce alternating current out of the amplifier they would have to be AC as well. If they were dc they couldn't transmit the different freq (ac)

Oh, my bad. I just assumed that everything prett much on the car is DC (which most of it is), except that the amp turned it into AC for the speakers.

whoops...

Yeah It is cool man. Something to learn is DC is DIRECT current means a solid or one way (forgive me if my wording isn't the best had a few...ooops) Ac is a cycle and in electricity that is the only type that can make an acoustic noise besides POP lol
