Nitro rc

I knew I saw you somewhere else too...
I haven't been there in a long time. Maybe I'll see whats going on over there later.
Things seem to be a little "less fun" on the RC forums these days. I could be wrong, of course. But they don't seem as wild and interesting as they did in the days of the psycho guru RC pimps like Modellinc, Outkast, 305997, EMaxxManAZ, krauterbutter, Crowebar, and a couple other guys who were not only coming up with crazy projects all the time, but pretty cool people to know too.

One time, when I burned up a $500 motor and was waiting for replacement, world-famous Dick Crowe sent me 3 Huge B50 XL Hacker motors from his world-champion-winning speed boats: 8T, 9T, and 10T, to mess with, just so I didn't have any down-time. I broke my land speed record with one of those loaners during that time. How cool was that? Conrad sent me regular pictures from the war-front when he and his copter were sent overseas. Great group of people with an excellent feeling of "community".

That is very true. I remember the good days of the forums were you had the veteran RC guys doing all kinds of cool stuff. It seemed like everybody was friends.

Now it just seems like its new guys that ask the same boring questions all the time and almost all of the old guys are gone now.

when i was living in long island rc's was a huge hobby tracks all over the places with shops etc. Upstate now by syracuse rochester i think there is a total of 2 shops and they just have indoor tracks both places are about 1 hr away from me. I got the gas one because i thought they raced them. Only electric.

Oh, we certainly can't forget "The JANG". One very cool OG who was a huge influence on mega-modded RC vehicles of all types starting a couple years ago.

and Promod who broke my speed records twice and as far as I know still owns the fastest 10th/8th scale monster truck land speed record out there. His approach was unique in that the trucks were built purely for low-weight and high speed, which he certainly acheived, but not necessarily "bashability", handling or strength.

2-stroke opens both input and exhaust valves at the same time, so technically it's impossible, but some sites have claimed to do it theoretically. Personally, I have doubted it since the first time I saw a claim for the products. Much better just to spend the extra money on a nice engine, porting/polishing, and excellent tuning and reduction of drive-train friction.
