Nissan Dealership = Shady (LEASE.....Long Read)

dealer told me that I didnt have to because I didnt have major damages to the car....then he gives me another story when Im there

Goes back to that whole thing about reading what you sign. This isn't your buddy or a family member you're dealing with or anything like that, this is a business transaction. Anybody's word is pretty much as good as what's on paper. You can ask around on a forum to a bunch a people who may or may not have ever leased before but know what sounds right to them, or who leased with someone other than Nissan but will advise you based on an agreement they signed over something completely different, or you can walk in there with your paperwork on monday and start dictating your own terms. If you signed a legal agreement and they are in accordance with it nothing anybody on here tells you about what sounds right and how things should be really matters. IF you signed a legal agreement and it turns out they are not in accordance with it you can go in on Monday, hand over the car and the keys, show them your copy, then tell them to sign whatever paperwork they need to sign to take it off your hands or else you'll report them to everybody you can think of and then sue.

As a former Finance Manager for several dealerships I can tell you this.....DON'T BELIEVE A THING ANY SALESMAN HAS TO SAY!!!! Don't speak to ANYONE other than someone that deals directly with lease turn-ins and get everything in writing upon return of the vehicle, this way you cover your backend on the frontend....

In your case take your car to a different Nissan Dealership...you don't have to turn it in to the same one you bought it at. You can get an independent inspector to inspect the car and have them take pictures as well. This will be your proof if you need to dispute any claims made against you....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif:D:D

thanks man

These things happen. Now you just need to figure out if you're dealing from a position of strength or a position of weakness. My guess is if they're trying to extort you to buy another vehicle they must have a very good feeling that they have you by the nads. Figure out what your responsibilities were first off. Get ready to take care of them. Then figure out what the absolute worst is they can do to you for turning the car in however late you may end up turning it in. Go in with a check or credit card and be done with it, and once you're at that stage don't be afraid to let everyone and anyone who will listen (Make sure they understand you'll write a letter to the GM) know that you feel as if you were extorted and blackmailed, and that the very possibility of buying another vehicle shouldn't have even entered into the equation until everything else clearly was sorted out. Specify that you will express your displeasure on any surveys you receive about this lease or any buying, leasing, or servicing experiences you may receive in the future.

As I said for me the sales part is fun, find what you like, state your price, and find the money to pay.

The service part is what sucks because 99% of dealership service departments are incompetent and you have to make multiple trips with tons of down time with the vehicle before they figure out what's wrong. It ain't like old school mechanics that can hear a noise or feel a symptom in a test drive and tell you with 96% probability right then and there what's most likely wrong. With the new breed if they can't see it on a diagnostics machine they have to duplicate the sypmtom for themselves then rip apart whatever part of the car it's coming from before they have a clue. 2 months ago I went in with a steering noise on my 04 Dakota. I was told it was fixed and charged 2500 bucks out the door for various new steering components. It was fixed but only partially. The noise came back within 48 hours to a lesser degree. I was told, 'we mostly fixed it, you should be happy. Be satisfied with it or else we're charging you more money to try to fix it again.' After some very heated discussion where they got mad and yelled and I kept cool I got an extra 600 dollars in repairs and a 2nd alignment at no extra charge as well as a free 2 day rental car for repairs on an out of warranty vehicle at a dealership that I didn't even originally buy from and never did much business with.

My advice: Keep your cool, say whatever you have to say even stuff they won't like with a smile on your face, and just keep repeating that you haven't had a good experience and you'll be expressing that to everybody you can possibly reach by phone and by mail. Don't give ground until you're happy. If you are calm and smiling but unrelenting while you express your displeasure it is like a sort of psychologicaly warfare. You won't believe it till you try it. It pisses the other guy off more and throws him off his game.

my dad is general manager at a nissian dealership, because im lazy i didnt read all those posts just the first one...

1. they ALWAYS inspect your car, when i turned in my car there was well over 1000$ worth of scratches, nissian gives you a 500$ leniency if you purchase/lease a new car.

2. you can return that car when ever the **** you want, alot of dealerships usually accept leases 2-3 months early if you plan on getting a new car at the same time.

3. if the dealership has a bodyshop with it like most do they usually inspect it them selves

4. they charge you each day you dont bring the car and may report it to proper authorities.

spoke to another Nissan dealer
they will give me a 10 day grace period in which I can get car inspected
was bout to tell you about the grace period. we got it with our explorer. and ya i hear ya bout dealers, trying to find a new car sucks lol.
