SO about 7 weeks ago I installed a alpine cda-9886 in a 350z and everything went swell it had the bose system in it and all. And he is back in iraq be we keep in touch anyway he was saying that his stations are not coming in like they use to. So i explained the scanning feature and though everything was fine after that but he says they are still not coming in like they did. And he said that he asked some people and they said that he needs a power antenna amplifier? Anyone know about this? And no the car is not in iraq with him.

first i would try to whip up a quick antenna from the deck to external to trouble shoot the cars antenna or the head unit.

being you do not have a car and this is a wild shot maybe something within the radio is fried from feedback from the bose system or the grounding on the amp or antenna.

did the after market wiring harness you used have a blue trigger lead and a blue antenna lead?

one might be solid blue the other blue with white stripe?

if yes to both i imagine you did not hook up the remote wire as you are using bose to power

try hooking up the blue wire with white stripe to 12v

i think this will solve your reception problem

sorry to chime in but this sounds like my problem but i would just like to pick up stations that are 150 miles away.. so would a signal booster pick them up?
