Nine.2 or Nine.2X for Alpine type X comps?

I just bought some alpine type x comps to run my front stage and I understand that they are rated at 75/300 (rms/peak).

I currently have a Nine.2X amp which is rated at 200 X 2 @ 4 ohms. I'm thinking that this might be too much power for the comps.

Would they sound better on a Nine.2 (which puts out 100 X 2 @ 4 ohms), or should i just stick with the Nine.2X?

If you don't want to buy a new amp, just watch your gains on the nine.2x and you should be okay.

Buying a new amp isn't really a problem because i can probably just trade mine out (Nine.2's are cheaper anyway), but i was just wondering what would sound better....which amp is more optimal for those comps? Will they be louder with the Nine.2X?
