Would a Power Acoustik A1800DB be good for a single 15" L7?

I'm going to be running a single Kicker 15" L7 (2006) in my jeep grand cherokee soon. Now I don't know how much power my jeep can handle, but I'm hoping I wont have to pump a ton of money into electrical for this sub. Anyway, question is, is this amp too much for the L7? Or is it a good choice? this is for daily driving, and like every other car audio noob out there, I only want loud for now with 'not bad' sq. I'm looking to spend around $300 for an amp, so if any of you have better suggestions, I'm always open to them. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I'm also wondering what wiring kit I'd need. I'm completely new to car audio for the most part, and don't know much of anything. Hoping to learn through asking stupid questions since I'd like to involve myself more in this expensive hobby. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Thanks in advance.

you'd need at least a 2 awg wiring kit for that bad boy, but the larger the better, always good to plan for a larger system in the future //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

**** the 15 and get 2 12s man, you'll get louder and have better response.
idk, that all depends on how much room he wants to keep back there, a sinlge 15" l7 kicker will do ALOT of damage back there, 2 12's could be louder, but the more subs, the more interesting it gets.

if you have a budget of 300 just get the PA 3000db and set gains correctly. They are pretty good, specially for the money just anticipate them being a little overrated. With 2 you can get a dual 4 l7 and wire to 2ohms then if get a second wire them to 1ohm.

underrated or not, its still a better deal than anything else in its power range that it is true to.

appreciate all the input.

I don't really have a 'budget' persay, so.. -shrug- all suggestions are considered. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I'd like to keep SOME room in the back of my jeep just incase, (in response to just getting 2 12's) so I decided 1 15" should work just fine. I'm kindof looking for a ~$600-700 system that can rack up some tickets. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

good luck with that unless your planning the ebay route and finding some kicka** deals. think my system ran me about 800 or so not including the wiring, and that was with everything on sale.

well, like I said, budget's not a problem. I can easily spare a few extra hundred when/if needed. I'm building it piece by piece. should be done within 2-3 weeks from now. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I'm getting the Power Acoustik a3000db, and a single L7 15". I will probably upgrade to two subs later, since us crazy pople always want more bass no matter what. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

can someone please direct me to a good wiring kit for this setup? as I mentioned, I'm still new. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Also, is there anything else I should need aside from amp, sub and wiring kit? A few people suggest I get a cap with this amp, so it doesn't drain my battery quick, but a lot of other people also said a cap is a big waste.

Really appreciate all the help. Thank you for being polite about all suggestions and not flaming me or anything. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I purchased the second mentioned amp kit last night, and now I need to wait until wednesday, when I will purchase the sub and the amp. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Hopefully this system does as a lot of people tell me it will. I'd love to temporarily lose my vision at 50% volume. ;p

I'm also looking at just buying a temporary sub box on ebay. Just one of those 'for now' things. Anyone have some input on this?

Looks well-built. =\
