Have you tried a Warden ? DD 95z 99z ??So what kind of power handling daily are we talkin about here? 3k? 4k? 5k?
We are trying to find other subs to test out for 4k+ daily. Without having to go to 4" coils. Only two subs have been able to do it properly with 3" coils in our testing and it would be nice to expand the selection.
Not a bad looking sub either.
sold! lolOne of the best qualities about the NightShade is it's ability to get loud off very little power. Even though the v.2 is rated for 2kw it'll get plenty loud off only 1-1.5kw. We were able to get a 150.3db legal in my truck with a pair of stock NS v.2 15"s off only 1800w of clamped power. Not bad considering these subs are built to handle 10kw burps with ease.
I do have a lot of time & experience into my setup as far as spl goes but in a direct swap the stock configured NS v.2s were right on par in low power efficiency with my NS v.1s. My NS v.1s were specifically built for a low power setup with about half the moving mass as the NS v.2s and a 33% softer suspension.i think it was your alignment.. with that much moving mass its just not going to be efficient.. good motor strength and low power compression will make those suckers WHALE...
Brandon has a 4500D @ 1 ohm per NS v.2 in his truck - so far the performance is very good. He gets his 12x SPV-70s down into the 11s with a 350-amp alt before the subs are getting too hot.I wouldn't hesitate to run a saz-4500d on one of these daily. The cooling design of the motor works extremely well.
