I'm not saying I completely disagree with you but they weren't really any more physical in '02 than they are now and they won the cup that year. How would you explain that??

How do I explain it? It was 5 years ago. The two games are drastically different. Between the rule changes and the CBA, the way the game is played has changed. Apples and oranges man. I'm not saying Detroit doesn't have the ability to win the cup, they're just not favourites. They're in the same boat as Ottawa.

Very interesting playoff picture being painted. A lot of very deep teams with the trades. Vancouver is playing well and they have the backing of one of the best in the league. San Jose has 9 deep up front, the question this year is more their goal tending (as opposed to their young D-line last year). Nashville's only downside is the uncertainty of their constitution as a team. Out of the east, the not-so-dark-horse Penguins will be tough to beat. Youthful temerity, with shitloads of talent, their success will hinge not only on their offense, but how well Fleury plays. With 12 shutouts on the year, Brodeur and the Devils are looking good going into the post season. Buffalo, although on the mend, is also a power house. How well they will perform is dependent on further injuries, and whether or not their opponents can take advantage of the number of giveaways that Buffalo produces.

Nice little hockey thread goin on here! Sorry Adam it ain't happenin for Detroit this year.......Zetterberg is out with a lil back problem for 2-3 weeks. Not to mention I hate Detroit with a passion, this is Buffalos year. I can also see New Jersey winning it this year althought I hate them too. Id be willing to wager a substantial amount they dont get there.

First of all I don't bet on sports or anything for that matter. Second of all, hating other teams is what makes it fun for the fans. Namely, us. And finally, you can make all the predictions you want but remember last year, NO ONE picked Edmonton to come out of the Western Conference. But they did.

In the end, they still have to play the games.

Red Wings whipped the Predators in their own house last night 5 - 2 with NO Zetterberg in the lineup.

LOL, you mean the other way around buddy. i think the refs let us get away with ONE call, and the leafs about 4-5.

how about when Sundin got whacked in the head right before Bolye scored. The Leafs get treated the worst by refs in the league. I have watched many games where they call bogus penalties on them but won't call blatent called on anyone else.

There were a few more. Refs aside, where TB lost the game was there crappy defense and allowing 3 soft goals.
