Next level?

So, right now I run two Sa-12 D4s; I may be looking to up my SPL, suggestions?

Not stuck on 12s, I have fit a 4.2 cube box, but with some of my hand skills I bet I could fit a solid 5 cubes.

Suggestions for the SPL? Going for highest SPL in my 100k pop city, not a hard goal when they all run kicker CVRs //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif Hell, I haven't yet heard anyone come close to my two SA-12 D4s, besides this one guy running 4 Cvrs in a 4runner...

But, there is a show coming up locally in about 6 months, the time has come.

$400 range, give or take.

The amp will follow the sub, I'll decide that after the sub, so no accounting for amp.

It will be going in a trunk of a Sedan. I know SUv's have some massive air flow, putting out those hair tricks. Possible in a Sedan? with a box built inside my trunk, I bet I could fit 7 cubes

Ab xfl 12s

Oooo, that American Bass!

I bet the Kicker CVRs will still give me a run for my money with those American Bass. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Alright, one tally chalked up for AB!

If you want to be louder you have a few options. Build and test different boxes with your current setup. Otherwise, add cone area and/or more power. Just changing subs will not be that much of a difference.

Oh? cone area? As in another sub? I push those SA-12 D4s at 700rms. I don't wanna blow em; rated at 600rms. Although, I hear they can take a beating! I have my 4.2 cube box tuned at 35Hz, that's company specs. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif

Ab xfl will tear a new pole vent in an sa. Been proven by two trunk guys and a hatch guy. everyone that tries them after sa wont go back.

Also look into IAD 1k rms for 175  great prices and a good owner.

Ah, I'll look into both once again. I looked at AB, but then Chriszle shot me down.

he just voiced what he was thinking. yes a new box would lead to more output (likely) but i know drop in gains from different subs exsist. if you're interested in some xfl's i can get them for you. or mylows10. either way we can get you hooked up. you want IAD? come to me. ill get them to you before anyone else gets them (besides me tfade and 5 others. )

Question, if I up my amp to lets say a 300 Watt amp [just saying 3000 not a real plan] and hook my two Sa-12 D4s up to em and just leave my gains down, will they blow? Or is it just if I push them hard with full power they will blow? Do they still get the 1500 Watts off the 3000 watt amp even if gains aren't all the way up? Or no? No, right? I can feel free to up my amp and see what the Sundowns can truthfully do? I doubt my Brutus 1700 is pushing them to the fullest :p

IAd laughs at an saz3500 at .5 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

if you only want to be louder on the meter for that show, then get more power. SA's will burp on a LOT more then what you have now. Also consider a more SPL friendly box tuned a little higher and with more port area.

Will my Sa-12s laugh at 3k? No? :p I may up my amp before I up the subs, it would be a sad sad gloomy day if I got two AB Xfls in the mail and had to run them at 600RMS... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/*******.gif.a649d21efc0d1fd4890a6428166586c1.gif
