i got my system installed the other day and the installer put this knob under my steering wheel....im guessing its 4 the amp cause when i put i up its gets louder...the question is how high can i put this knob i have it about half way and it slams...thanks 4 ur input

More than likely it's a gain control knob. Generally speaking, it's not something to be fiddled with. It's for matching the preout voltage from your head unit to the amplifier so that it is powered fully. If you have it too high, your amplifier may send a clipped sine wave to your subwoofers causing heat build up in the VC, and eventual blowing of the sub itself.

hey now thanks 4 the warning..but how will i know when its 2 high...i mean i using the stock bose cd player....and i dont wanna blow my subs...if u can please be explain a lil more it would be appreciated

youll hear distortion from the subs, your bass will become very muddy, and when you hear that, youll know you have it up too loud!!!!!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif)
