5 x 7 (6 x 8) 2-way custom fit loudspeaker pair

... even if the speaker was a so called "5x7" going in a "6x8" hole... the basket and everything still fits... and you can align 2 holes... just drill 2 new ones for the other 2 holes... i could understand a 5x7 in a 6x9 hole... or a 6½ in a 5x7 or 6x9 hole... but 5x7 and 6x8 is the same... cept for 2 mounting holes not found on some speakers... but his infinity speakers... should mount fine... it has 8 holes you can put screws in... surely 4 of them will line up...

Not sure if this answers your ? but my car has the upgraded premium package for 6 speakers from factory. I have a Sony CDX-CA810X HU that will be upgraded when i get an amp.
Right, but the sony is only ment to run four speakers I believe. Check and see if the internal amp can go down to a lower ohm load than four ohms. I'm not even sure what the wiring harness will look like when you have 12 speaker wires to send somewhere. Thats a tough deal. I'll talk to some guys in my shop and see if anyone has ever messed with something like that before.

Oh yeah... is it six actual speakers? Or are two of the them tweets and the other four real speakers? Cuz, if you just set the tweets and the front mids on two crossovers and then to the HU, it'll see 4 ohms. Just let me know if you got 6 real or for real and two tweets.. and I'll figure out whats up with wiring them.

It's a 1992 Ford Mustang GT HB. They are 6 real ones: 3.5s, 6.5s, and 5x7s. I don't see why it would be a problem because many Mustang owners have aftermarket HUs with the premium package.

That's because they probably run everything through the factory amp... and the stock speakers might be a certain ohm load... It depends on how you have everything wired up now I would bypass the factory amp and just run 4 speakers until you get your amp... then run the 6½'s and the 5x7's off an amp and the 3½'s off the deck
