Hi all,

I do not know anything about car audio system. I just want to upgrade my 05 Civic's factory system a little bit so i get a better sound.

With a budget of around $500-$700 bucks, can i get an ok system? and if yes, what should i get? and where (local stores)?

Thanks all in advance for your help.

Kev

Well you just want a decent system, or you want to just start off by buying a HU, some nice components and an amp for the components then saving up and doing a sub and amp? That's what I would honestly do, if you get really cheap stuff you'll regret it and want some better stuff later. That's why I would just do a good HU, some nice components, and a 2 channel amp for them.

I wouldnt wanna get all "cheap stuff" but i do not know much how much things would cost. I just thought about getting a head unit, 4 speakers to replace the factory ones, and an amp.

I dont really know how good stuff my budget would allow me to get...

Well some advice forget about 4 speakers, all you need is a good set of components up front with an amp that will power them properly. It will sound much better, plus as far as imaging goes you want all the sound comming from in front of you besides your bass. That's why in my car I'm only doing a 3 way component set up up front, and no speakers besides the subs in back.

Thanks. I start to get it now. So specifically, what kind of "component" and head unit , and amp/sub, would you suggest? and where can i get them?

there r alot out there. look into cdt's, alpines r decent, focal, infinty r ok but can get harsh. go look in teh speaker section and review section. read up there alot out there.

As far as HU's goes look into an Alpine CDA-9833 or CDA-9853. As suggested look into some CDT's or Alpine Type X components. For an amp this http://www.ikesound.com/product-product_id/2846 Kenwood one is cheap and puts out a good amount of power for the price, I've never had any problem with Kenwood amps in the past.
For the other stuff look into these sites.
