Im looking at purchasing a new H/U. I have JL Slash amps to start with, heres my question:

Im considering the Alpine 505 (DVD) or Alpine 9887 (CD). The 505 offers 3pre-outs @ 2v, the 9887 offers 3pre-outs @ 4v.

Im looking for best SQ possible, I was originally looking at the 505 cause its a sexy unit, and DVD capable. But should I worry about the 2v output? Does having JL amps running constant voltage even these two Headunits out?

The amps will still work with 2v outputs, it will just sound better and have a stronger signal with 4v.

the less voltage the hu puts out, the higher you have to turn the gain on the amp. Higher voltage ouputs tend to have less signal noise

Hey guys, I went with the Alpine 505 w/Imprint processing. and WOW. completely blows my old Pioneer 6800dvd away! IM really happy with the results. Even the Ipod music on the Alpine sounds better than a CD played on my Pioneer. Made a huge difference! Thanks again for the imput.
