newb amp question - crossover

I have an Alpine MRV-F307 4 channel amp that I am going to be intalling in my truck. While I wait for my rammaat, I've been trying to figure out how my amp is going to work. For both channels 1+2 and 3+4 it has HP and LP filters, then it also has a crossover dial that goes from 50 to 200 Hz. I've got 3 questions for you.

Where will the LP and HP filters kick in?

If I set the crossover to 140Hz, does that mean that it will only play above 140, below 140, or will it focus on 140Hz?

&

What is the difference (on the imput mode switch) between the 1+2 setting and the ST setting?

crossovers block freqeuncies below (highpass) or above (lowpass) the crossover frequency. the effectivness is determined by the slope of the filter, thus 141hz would play similarly to 140hz, but 1400hz and 140hz and 14hz would play at different power levels.
