newb... 14.4v???

on audioque's website it says the tested voltage is 14.4v. this means it will put out 2200 watts @ 14.4v, right?

now how hard is it to maintain this voltage? currently, my vehicle has no electrical upgrades.

a running vehicle will average around 14.4 when you turn it off most batterys rest at around 12.5-12.8. With stock electrical as soon as that amp has draw to it making 2200wrms it will not have a chance to stay at 14.4 it will drop down and fast.

I would assume that the 14.4V stated is what they tested the amp at in order to arrive at their specs. Most modern day vehicles average about that level of output voltage at the battery. I know my '08 Silverado does.

Yeah, sorry, meant to mention that the 14.4V is when the vehicle is running. My bad.

if you have no electrical upgrade then it might be hard to maintain that voltage especially with such a big amp. You have to find out what your alt. is putting out first though.

how would i go about testing what the alternator is putting out?

You could take it to Autozone or another similar place and get them to load test it.
