I juss copped a 06 maxima fully loaded SL for like 30 gz. Now I need to put a system in there. I need a amp thats gonna power my JBL Power Series 10" temporarily at 2 ohms. But I need it to be a 1000+ watt or around there amp cuz I will switch to a 15 RLP soon.

D2's arent available right now from Mike, but should be soon...he usually only gets so many made to sell. Just keep on the SSA site and you should know when he has them. As far as an amp, if you HAVE to get d4, an eD nine.1 or JBL crown amp would do well, or the memphis listed above. I would wait for d2.

How much of a difference would it be for the D2 and D4 besides being wired at 1 and 2 ohms?

The jbl sub will be at 2 ohms. So As long as I can get at least 600-800 for it I should be fine. Then as long as the amp can hit a little over 1000 for the rlp later @ 1 ohm. Im assumin the D2 is worth the wait.

Any ideas? I would like good efficiency, under-rated, direct connects on the power/ground and a good looking amp.

what about a PG tantrum.. would put out the most power at 2ohm and then you wouldnt have to wait for a d2 rlp, a d4 would be fine. An rlp on a tantrum would get loud

PG 1200.1? Yea I think thats a solid amp. I was actually considering the KX1200.1 but I just wanted to know if there was anything else in that price range that would be better than the kx in efficiency, power and sq.

cuz he lied.. trying to make it out like he got a supreme deal.. said it had a 41K sticker.. and he paid 30K.. but you cant even get a maxima priced that high on the nissan site.

i would say the pg the flexibility of it might help. Of caurse you dont have to wait for a d2 either

1) its not a double post but one thread for the head unit and the amplifier which i separated so that they would both be in their correct location in the forum.

2) some one is bound to ask how much I paid.

3) I did not lie about the 41K sticker price. 35K on the website is the quote before everything the dealer adds on. For example the starting price of the maxima from the dealer was about 36,500 which is 1,500 more than the 35K you guys are mentioning. The reason for this is because it had an after market alarm added. Now after the fees, licensing and taxes the price was 41K.

Now for the real subject of this thread, I dont really mind waiting for the D2 I mean because I already have the JBL 10 just sitting in my room and that sub was hittin pretty good in my old car with the ported box. Im confident it will sound even better in the maxima. As long as the amp can do 1000-1500 watts @ 1 ohm easy thats all Im worried about. Well also the build quality and sq.

the tantrum isn't 1 ohm stable.. and its a lot more efficient at 4ohm.. at least thats what ive heard a PG employee say.

Ive heard the new RSD 1200.1 is a tank..supposedly puts the xenon 1200.1 to shame. that might be another option.
