New vs Used Amps: Which to buy?

I am looking at buying a 4-channel amp with around 75 RMS x 4 , (two outputs running parallel on door speakers and two bridged to a sub) and I am considering buying it used.

What are the disadvantages of a used amp vs a new one and what could get "worn down" on an amp?

Thanks!

I buy most of my amps used. I pretty much have no problems with most of them.

Theres really no moving parts so theres little to go wrong, unless the amp is misused.

Caps will go bad after 20~25 years.

New

Pros- Warranty, perfect condition, easy to find what you want

Cons- Price is usually much greater then a nice used piece...

Used

Pros- Good price and you can find nice old school products

Cons- Dont always have a warranty and run the risk of being screwed...

If you buy from a good reputable buyer though you should be just fine as long as you dont mind looking around and waiting for the amp you want...
