I'm a long-time viewer but first-time poster on this website in search of a little bit of advice.

I just got a 2001 Tacoma Double Cab and want to put a shallow mount hideaway sub behind the rear seat. I mainly want SQ meaning hard hitting but precise bass response. I have 250 watts RMS to give it and here are the only subs I'm considering so far:

Pioneer TS

Exile XTEC

Budget: ~$200-250

Mounting Depth: ~5" including MDF

Any other viable options/ suggestions?

i've heard ok things about the pioneers. i'm assuming they're 12's?

you said you have 5 inches including mdf? what's the mounting depth for the pioneers?

I would go with 1 10" kicker l5

Ups just dropped off my 3 12" Pioneer Premier shallow subs. They are only 4" deep. I am putting in my regular cab s10.

thanks for the replies, I'll probably go with the XTECs since I haven't really found anything else yet that seem to compare to them even at a higher price. But I'm still browsing and new suggestions are welcome.
