I'm a noob to this forum and this type of work. Please forgive if this is a post that gets repeated a lot.
My previous truck had the standard 4 speaker setup. 2 front, 2 back. I had 2 8" subs added later. They were wired funny though. (I thought.) Front wired to rear, rear and subs together... I don't know. A shop did it.
Now I have a new ride and am replacing the stock stereo with a new deck. This ride has 6 speakers though.
First how do you wire a 6 speaker system to a 4 speaker deck? Are the door speakers just wired to the front speaker and just have crossovers?
I would just let the deck power the front/side speakers and let the amp run the subs and rear speakers. (do able?)
The amp for the subs is a Sony XM 405EQX. It works well for what I want. I dont need anyone else to hear what I'm banging my head to, I just want it to sound good and clear for me.
Specs - Sony XM 405eqx (pdf)
Product Guide - Sony XM 405eqx (pdf)
Also can anyone tell me if this amp will push 10s? Remember I'm not looking to blow out windows, but just get something nice for my ears.
Thanks,
Scott
