You can fit a 5.25 on 1/4" baffle. I have the same truck and measured it. It will work!

I have an 03 F250. With a little cutting or grinding you can put in 6.5's. I have Boston Acoustics Z6's in that spot and Pro 60's in the rear. They are 6.5's also
