New to subwoofers, please help!

Its better to go with one quality sub than 2 cheaper subs. The exception is when you go with 8 - 16 cheap subs.....it will blow your 1 expensive sub out of the water. lol

I'd put 2x $100 Sundown E-12's on 600w rms up against 1x $200 Sundown SA 12 on the same 600w rms any day of the week, and twice on Sunday. Both examples being in their respective enclosures tuned to the same daily tune frequency/port area,etc., and loaded in the same vehicle the same way on the same amp.

all depends on the box though and desires. that one sa will be better at certain things than the e's. if you put it in a higher tunes box and had say a 1k amp id say get the sa but on 600rms id go ith 2 e-12's from splaudio for cheapzzzz

There's always used I've seen a couple offers shot to you here (best bet) or there's always Craigslist always worked for me just make sure you know what your looking at cause there's a lot of shade bags on cl better off classifieds on here

It might have more output overall, but I would still say a SA 12 on 600 RMS will be a better overall setup. It also depends on the tune and box though, the SA12 could easily out perform 2 E-12's....

If you are strictly after SPL, there is no replacement for displacement. Either with the number of subs or total displacement from the cone area and excursion....similar to the bore and stroke of an engine.

say i got 2 KICKER 10C12 12"s for $120, then what amp would be the best to get but keep below $200 because i still need a box n wiring kit, are there amp+wiring kit bundles?

You came here asking for help. There have been 5+ solid suggestions. Listen up and stop looking at flea market level products.

You're going to want a D4 if you're also using the amp I posted.

This is a decent wiring kit for the money.

I had that exact kit, the terminals and fuse holder aren't the best, but will work for your needs, the wires are top notch though. Just got done putting those RCA's in my truck.

I know, right?..lol. I was tripping watching that dude do a 148 sealed/center windshield with 2400 watts @44hz on two $100 Sundown 400 watt steel frame subs..lol.

oh, yah, and a 150.4 at the kick, full tilt...lol

You're going to want a D4 if you're also using the amp I posted.
