Xterminator S-10A Noise filter???????

I got this xterminator s-10a 150watt noise filter. I got it in a big box of random car wires. I have no idea what this is or how to use it, I would like to know what it does just incase it will help out my build. The black box only has three wires coming out of it.... I dont know what to do.
