New sundown subs

so much fail in this post alone SMH
This ^^^^ Bahahaha.

And these been out for at least a couple weeks. Seen them on SSA and on the Sundown site. Both them and the SA RMS @ 600, but I would assume these subs will not take the brutality as much as the SA's will...

1) The SD-2 line will accept the same enclosures as the SA line -- they are slightly more sealed friendly. You can run the SA line sealed as well and many people do -- you more commonly ready about their usage as ported SPL subs on the forums but that is not all they can be used for.

2) The SD-2 line exists to fit much shallower enclosures (and they are slightly cheaper). Example... SD-2 10" is 4.75" deep and the SA-10 is 6" deep. The SD-2 also has a solid pole so does not need ANY room behind the magnet for venting making effective depth requirements even less.

3) The E, SD-2, and SA lines are made in China -- this has never been hidden. We have worked hard to ensure quality and hand test every one before it ships and pull out any units that don't meet QC standards. They would not be any better of a speaker if we built them here.

4) The SD-2 motor diameter is the same as the SA line -- it's just half as much height on the magnet. Not a small slug by any means.

5) As for ruggedness... they won't disappoint... the SA is obviously still a bit more rugged but the SD-2 holds its own :

6) We are not planning any other sales on the SA-10/12/15 line this year. The only special planned for the SA line is a pre-order on the SA-8 v.2 when production beings.

Hope that takes care of all of the legitimate questions in this thread.

So the pre-order for the sa-8 v.2 will happen this year then right???

That helps out alot //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I think i may go with an sd10 then and put in in a nice 1.5-1.75cu box. So the 50-70Hz range can hopfully get loud, really want more outa that range then my JBL is giving me

I thought the SD's came out a long time ago? Are these different sd's?
We had an SD-1 and a SD-1 v.2 a long time ago.

This is the SD-2 -- the successor to that line.

Will a price be announced anytime soon?
Yes it will. We are getting all final production costs together still -- I will have something soon.

cool, so u think 600rms would be plenty for the SD2? Ive heard the SA's like 800-900 better then 600. Dont wanna under power em
That'll be perfect I'm sure. I've heard people running 400w to their SA and are very pleased. 600 on the slim should be fine.

Thanks for beating me in here and saying all that Jacob haha, there was a lot of confusion going on.

Check out a video of Sundown's QC process. Yea the subs are made in china, but the engineering, R&D, QC, and everything else is done right here if I understood correctly.

Really the SA's still preform well with lower wattage? Since they take the same box size my only limiter is rms, if 600 is enough for th SA10 ide rather take that then the SD
