I'm looking to get some new subs and was wondering what people's opinions, comments, and suggestions on them or other subs that are similar. I'm planning on using 2500w or so on 2 12's or 10's. I want to get really loud but with a small sealed box and have it sound really good too. Alpine Type-X, Orion HCCA 12.4, W6's, MB Quart PWE, Cerwin Vega Stroker (not sure if it's a small box sub). I'm not looking to spend more than $500 for 2 subs, any help would be appreciated.

Out of those you listed and the amount of power on tap, I'd choose the Type X for smaller sealed enclosure use.

Alpine recommend the 10" be in 0.65cf and the 12" in 1.0cf before displacement.

Didn't have the internet for awhile. Thanks for the help.

No problem. Have you ever heard an appropriately powered Type X in a sealed enclosure before? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif

I just heard them before on a wall at tweeter but they were hardly getting any power so they didn't impress me but I've heard good things about them.

i'm about to get one of these and power it with PDX.1000. Is that enough juice?
That amp should output around 1200-1400w rms depending on what it's factory tested at. So it could very well be enough. No guarantees, though.

Never hurts to try it out. If it doesn't work out, you could probably make almost all of your money back if you need to sell the PDX since they are quite a hot commodity right now.

why would alpine make subwoofers that need more power than the amps they sell? LOL

because they can. besides, a type x will make due just fine with 1000w rms, but many have reported that the sweet spot is right around 1500-1700w rms (sometimes more, in rare cases).
