New Subs

Im upset. I jus installed a JL audio 1000/1 v2 amp. And a 2 12' MTX audio thunder 5500. and then yesterday i was bumpin it and like 5 min later i ended up frien them and i got some new ones reinstalled today and the guy was tellin me i had the base up to much on the head unit. and now the man is tellin me that i need to keep the base all the way down to negitive 9. And now there is no point of even having it. my system was jus as loud stock as it is now. and would an base controler help make any difference?

any advice can help so please and thank you.

Those 5500s only handle about 600 rms. You're giving them bout 300 watts more than they can take, and pounding it at that. Get new subs.
How could he be sending 2 subs 900 watts when his amp is only 1x1000 watts?

What ones did you have reinstalled? More 5500s?

If they are set the bass on your HU to 0 and set your gains correctly.

that is a Bad Amp. i would go with one JL 13W7 on it and youll have more bass than those 2 MTX's. that is if you are going with new subs. if you are keeping those, then do the above procedure accordingly.

can you have your HU bass at +6 (all the Way up on my HU) than set your gain

or dos it have to be at 0?
