New Subs for AQ2200D

Well I have had 2 12" Type R's in a 4.5ft^3 box for about 2 years now at 1.1k watts and looking to change subs.

Recommendations - looking for some harder hitting subs. Perhaps 1 12" is the right way to go. I will be making the box and have a budget of around $350.

I want to use all 2.2k watts of the AQ!

plenty to choose from, especially if you buy used. look at audioque sdc2.5"s and keep it in the family.

I have two dd 2512a's on my 2200 and they love. I wouldn't give them much if any more tho. There is a guy selling two dd 2512a's for like 250 shipped which is a pretty ridiculously low price. They get real loud. I'd go with those if you have the room for a 5.8 gross cubic foot box.

Also two Audioque sdc2.5's would love that amp granted you have the room for a box pretty much same size as i posted above.

yeah, preferably the ones made in the usa with the **** on the cone, but those are better than the newest ones too

They're only rated for 1200rms for the both of them.

i know that, and I also know they can handle your amp. if you are not as believing, you can step up to an SX

Most people run around 750w on each though.

They will not hold up to 2k. 2 SX's will though. Did an install w. 1500watts and 2 12" se's they get pretty warm pretty fast.

I doubt your AQ will put out the 2200 unless you can keep it at 14v anyways.

Is 1 15" the way to go? I'd ideally like a smaller box as I dont have too much trunk room as is.....car in sig btw.

2 more 2ohm DVC type R's - I guess your right as my eBay box doesnt take advantage of the height that I can use - however I dont want to go above the seatbacks.
