not really happy with my current setup which is two 12'' kicker l7's. powered by two kicker zx 1000.1 amps (one per sub) now dont get me wrong it can get nasty on some bass but i want more. i went to my local dealer and he said i could run two 12'' RE XXX subs on my amps (one per sub) and be ok, worst case scenario being underpowered. i get the feeling he was trying to make a sale but it has interested me. if i can get away with it i dont mind dropping the cheddar on the subs. what do you guys think? or if u got any other ideas let me know i dont mind ideas. im looking for two 12''s that i can run off my current amps and bass that literally makes u choke

Look into some DD subs... I'd do 2 3512s with each amp and that would choke you up quite a bit //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

my only issue is buying subs ive never heard. the guy deals strictly RE and the demo he gave me on a RE xxx 12 blew me away. he cranked it up, when i stuck my head in the car it literally hurt the side of my face. i dont mind trying new things and i will look into the DD's. i know im not working with much power, but i know theres some subs out there that can make someone be like:wow:

im going to look into the dd's but those RE's just nailed my attention. like i said i just want a set of 12's i can run on zx1000.1 kicker amps and make sure my car will flex more then what my L7's are doing (which is pretty **** good flex)//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

L7 specs? As in what is recommended by Kicker? I don't think a lot of manufacturer recommend box sizes to what they truly need to be loud
i probably should have phrased that better. the install shop deals alot of kicker and does custom enclosures for kicker products(mainly the solo squares). needless to say i trust that they made the box to produce the best it possibly could

You do no thave enough power for the RE barely enough for one of them actually. 2K+ RMS seriously.

I would trade in the the 1000.1 for a kicker 2500 and run that kind of power to your subs - maybe even a lower tuned box with way more port area. I am sure that your shop is capable of building a great box but the enclosure is almost moree important than the subs beign used is - why we asked.

Try some Type R you will be right at the limits of how loud they can play with 1k each and they are proven performers on that kind of power - I would go the 2500 rout personally. they can be had on here for around $500 much less than a XXX would cost at a Shop!

thanks for the opinions but i think im going to give the DD's a shot. im not to hell bent on the xxx anyomore. the shop built the best possible box for those l7'S given the lack of trunk space i have
