RCA Cable Question, help 2-channel mono center mono sub

Could I use a twisted pair two channel RCA cable to run my center mono and sub mono on the same L/R RCA cable? I would be using for example the red side to my center mono and white side for the sub mono. Would the two different frquencies be a problem? I did it last night and it works, just wondering lon term with have a sub frequency and a high frequency going though the same RCA 2-channel cable. any help would be great!
