New sql sub

I'm looking for a new sub. My favorite sub to date was my jbl w12gti. I had it in a sealed box on around 600 watts in an extra cab s10. Sound quality was amazing. I did at times want more output. Maybe ported, or more power would have resolved the output issue. I just picked up another small extra cab truck. I want something with the jbl sq, but more output then I had with that setup. I currently have a audiopipe 1800.1 for sub duties. Would like to stick with a single sub. 12"-18" is fine. I'm running a sundown sa8v2 now. Just want more/deeper bass output.

If you can fit an 18" with a proper (gonna be large) box, definitely get one as that will largely solve your output issues. Look into SSA ICON 18" and don't cheap out on the box. I'm not sure what numbers your amp actually does though. With the ICON 18" and a custom built box, you're probably looking at $600 or more total. Should be worth it though, if done right.

If you can hold out and save up a bit more DD is bringing out the SW3500 late this year.

I'm really considering getting one myself. The single 8 is cool, loud enough, surprising. It plays plenty low, 25hz is audible. I just miss that 30hz rumble a single 8 just don't have.

My last setup was 2- power bass 2xl15's in a suburban. So dropping to the 8 is lacking a bit. Although I finally got it into the truck today. Sounds pretty dang good. Just missing something.

Budget is open. If it's expensive might take a little longer to get. I have other subs to test in the interim. Just looking for a great sub, that will shake things apart If I want it to, but also have great sq.

I came from a 150db setup. Definitely check out the 35. They are used in SPL and SQ like most DD woofers.

WGTI is a tough act to follow. IMO going from that to some of the stuff people are recommending will be a bit of a let down unless all you care about is more output. WGti on 1200W ported would be great. They are a very highly regarded SQ sub that can take some power. Don't rule out the JL W7 either. They sound very nice and can get loud if you build a good box. Don't pay MSRP for one, but used for 350$ ish they're a solid choice.

The one sub, that is probably largely untouched, that does "deep" bass, has low distortion, and a ton of output - TC-sounds LMS Ultra. Not sure where you can buy one now, but if you find it...yeah. This isn't too practical as it's also expensive. I think an 18" ICON fits the bill here, as does FI Q. If ordered now, you'll likely get them toward the end of June.

I ended up picking up a ct sounds strato 12. Right now it's just in a prefab sealed box. Deciding whether to stick with 1 or add a second. Then I will build a nice box. Got to listen for an hour or so last night. Was pretty happy with the sq of it. Would like a little more output at times. But it's still breaking in and in a small sealed prefab. A good ported box and some break in time it might be all i need

I like 2 12s because you always have that extra room to pound, should you choose to.
I'm pretty sure I'll be adding a second one. I would rather not push 1 to its limits to get the output, when 2 will do that same output with less effort. Then I have the output on tap when A favorite song comes on and I want to crank it. Maybe I'll run the ct sounds for now and get some more gti's down the road if I feel the need
