Hey there guys have been looking into upgrade my front stage speakers for a while and thought I would ask for help after not being able to find valuable information. I am about to finish my aftermarket sub/amp install and already know I am going to want to upgrade my speakers as soon as it is finished so why not do it all at once. Im not looking to go too crazy though I just want a simple swap out of my stock speakers while still using the factory amp . I will be later adding the ms-8 and a multi-channel amp but that is 6months-1year from now.
My car is an Audi A4 2010 with the basic concert stereo. The amp is about 20w per channel (I've been told) and has internal crossovers, along with steering wheel functions. I want to keep my factory head unit so I have to keep my factory amp to run the signal . I have not been able to find much information on my factory amp so if anyone has some that would help out a lot! I also have 2 stock locations I can use for the tweeters. There are 2 A-pillar locations and 2 dash locations firing at the window. I think I'm going to use the A-pillar location to receive better performance (correct me if im wrong)
I've been wanting to try Dayton speakers for a while now and thought this was a good opportunity. Although there tweeter will not fit in the stock 2 locations so I would have to go with a different tweeter. I decided on the Vifa tweeter after hearing some good things about them.
Here is the upgrade I wanted to originally do...
Dayton 6" woofers x2 in the doors

Dayton 3" full range x1 in the center dash

Vifa 1" tweeter x2 in the dash or a-pillars

That was just the speakers I've wanted to try out but am willing to hear what any of your opinions are regarding what I should run. After talking to my local head shop they suggested going with the Focal Integration Series. He said it was specifically for European cars and keeping the factory amp. I would definitely have chose the Focal's if they weren't twice as much as the other setup I was looking at. Here is a link to the Focal speakers...
Focal IS 165 - Gold Star Audio
What do you guys think?
Thanks for the help,
Trevor
