i have a 2000 dodge 1500 ext cab i replaced the radio head with a aftermarket sony radio and i also wanted to replace my door speakers so i picked up a pair of 6x9 alpine speaker so i took my door panel off and pulled the speaker out and when i did this hole cluster **** of wires came with it well looked at it closely and the speaker had a black box attched to the speaker by a metal plate thats pressed in between the speaker magnat and the speaker frame i looked throw a hole in the box and i can see like computer chips inside and there is at least 5 wires that go into this thing and then the 2 speaker wires come out and go into the speaker any one know what it is and how i go about replaceing my speakers and my truck does have tweeters on the A posts

It's probably a crossover for the tweeter.

If there are 2 wires going into the stock speaker, use those ones to tie into for the new speaker and everything should still work.

If you don't want to keep the tweeter working or anything, just a straight run from the headunit is what you need.
