Yeah, for the 3% of people who reverse mount their drivers lol. That frame better have a serious increase to the performance for how ugly it is....
Performance is MUCH greater than cosmetics when it comes to baskets IMO.

Indeed...meh...there's gotta be a better looking basket that does the same thing that this one is doing
Indeed...
I guess it really doesn't matter since it gets mounted inside of a box, but hot **** I seriously would think it was a cheapo piece of work if I didn't know who or what SI was...
Ok... The goal of any business is to drum up new customers. You want to have something that really grabs the eye, either by looking tough or by being sleak and sexy. That basket looks like a cheap basket off of a subwoofer you buy at walmart or the autoparts store. So, even if it preforms like a ***** ape jumping on a cone and will collapse your ear drums with the right box and wattage, it won't do well because it doesn't look sleak. At least to me it doesn't.Yeah, for the 3% of people who reverse mount their drivers lol.

The picture shown above is our first prototype with a larger motor. The BM's are getting re-vamped: bigger all the way around. The frame pictured offers excellent venting around the coil and free-flowing air behind the cone so we are going to give it a shot (keep in mind, this is a PROTOTYPE, which is subject to change). The voice coil is staying the same diameter, but that is about the only thing that is staying the same with the new BM's. The motor is getting bigger, the power handling is going up, and excursion will stay about the same (since they already did ~ 2" p-p).
Yes, those are twin 1" slugs.
PS: Our current BM 12's are on sale to make way for the new versions. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
ssa said you are keeping that frame, and motor...Yep, they're getting bigger. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Keep in mind this is a prototype picture and the driver is subject to change still. We are keeping the basket and the motor, but a few other cosmetic things are going to change.
...and I would post it but I can't attatch it, the image must be already hosted. I'll reply back with a picture soon.
QTF cuz that's funny as hell //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gifTrue enough....when John Q retail see that in stores, they will think the decimal is in the wrong spot.
That's the best news so far...Yeah I did didn't I? We'll see how it performs when we get the proto and if the vc temps aren't down significantly compared to the 12-spoke we currently use we will go back to the 12-spoke.
...again, this is a prototype. Not final production.
we just like consistency //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif...and I edited the SSA post. Man I've got to be careful with my words with you vultures! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
