I'd just be scared to apply it, my score drops, and I have no way of getting it back off.

IF your score drops because of sound deadening, it only means that your system is not properly tuned.

Sound deadening should be applied before the box is built and before you figure out the resonant frequency of the car.

Tune your box according to the resonant frequency of the car AFTER the sound deadening is applied and you will not have to worry about a drop in score.

If you see a drop it is becuase your box is tuned with the resonant frequency of the undeadened car.

This is a total uphill battle for a lot of people, Ant. I think you should stop using the word "sound" in conjunction with this product and maybe use "noise" instead. But I think the word "sound deadening" is terrible to begin with and it's too late to break the mold. Might be the separation in the concept that could make or break the product. Just my $.02 after battling misconceptions and bad mind sets for years.

I have some of the Spectrum V2 you gave me still left. Think I'm going to boil some up on the stove and add some Elmer's glue, grape jelly and uranium U57. In certain frequencies it will, but the idea is to use it on the weakest sheet metal in the car. Like the roof for example. With 140-160 D-bees swarming around the cabin, a lot of energy is lost or rather wasted bytransfering the energy in to the sheet metal. This would be designed to strengthen up the sheet metal, reduce flex, kill vibrations and increase SPL. There will be some tweeking to do, but nothing that is beyond my abilities.

this is a funny thread I remember once mixing latex paint old used glass bead with a ton on aluminum dust in it and ground rubber, it worked well and was made with all garbage that was being thrown away. the ground rubber was from old tires the glass bead from cleaning pistons and the paint was garbage picked bucket of some off white semigloss. On my next car I would like to try second skin stuff compare with the cascade, I am happy with cascade good stuff but just never tried sludge yet. maybe I might get my friend to buy some for his truck and do a side by side with some of the cascade I have left.
