New RF subs (T212D2)

Hi guys,

I am thinking about purchasing 2x Rockford Fosgate T212D2 subwoofers.

The amplifier which will power them is a RF 1501BD (birthsheet says 1780W RMS @ 2 ohms).

But does anybody have any experiences with these new RF subwoofers? And are they good in means of SQ (priority) and SPL?

I currently have 3x MB Quart PWE302 subwoofers (if I recall correctly), but I am really disappointed with the outcome of these subwoofers, therefor I am planning to get new subwoofers.

You know ive heard the P2 and P1 and im sorry but these are over anestetic peice of junk , this one maybe be better but im sorry i like simple mean looks and thsi just doesnt do much for me i prefer the old Power HX2's . Anyway Look into RE or Memphis .

Wow..

It sounds like you have alot of money to spend if your thinking about getting T2s and that amp. But can I give you some advice to help you advoid getting ripped. Most of the fosgate shit is overpriced. Way overpriced to be exact. and from all of the subs I have heard... they all sound like shit, esp for SQ if thats what you want. One of my friends has 2 12' T1s and I don't like em. I mean ya they look cool and everything but thats not the point. Usually when you go into a local shop all they have is RF it seems like and they all have jacked up prices.. May I suggest another brand that you probally haven't heard of. Resonant Engineering in my mind would fit your budget perfectly. Not only that, but most of their subs sound alot cleaner and louder. Their website is http://www.reaudio.com ... its kind of tricky since they don't have prices on the site, but you can call them or look up prices by searchin this forum, they've been posted again and again. For an amp I would suggest getting Hifonics. Maybe like a BX1500D. You can pick one up off ebay or at onlinecarstereo (i think) for around 245$-300$. If you need any more info on RE please let me know. Everyone mostly on these forums has had really good sucess with their drivers and I only recommend the best. I would defintly go RE if your looking for somthing different that everyone doesn't have in your town, and more then likely no one has even heard of RE in your town. Well I have to get ready for work. If I were you I would just do alot of looking around.. in shops and online.. but If it were me I would defintly not fork over the money for any RF product.. just IMO though..

Don't listen to these kids. Those subs are friggen beasts. You will not get a bunch of SQ from them but hey If thats what you wanted you wouldn't be looking at there SPL woofer. The SQ/SPL is like 30/70. You will be the loudest person on the block though! Insane woofer. They are new right now so they are expensive but if you look around online you might find a great price.

Kids ? Im a year younger then you ? And if you can learn to read we both clearly stated it was our own opinion i've personally heard the satge 1 and satge 2's . and when my local dealer gets the stage 3 powers in ill go listen to those too . But my opinion so far is they are purely made to get loud b/c of simple minded people who think if im loud im cool . Atleast sound good doing it . I'm only refering to daily systems comps of course you need loudness but most buyers for RF are non competators go look at the list's of USACI and MECA and tell me how many run RF ?

lol.. im not much younger then you are. I'm really sorry trigger if I hurt your feelings by giving my opinon on Fosgate. I guess I have just had some bad experiences with their products, even though I am running Fosgate subs and 5 1/4s right now. All of the RF dealers around here are overpiced and I was just pointing out to him that there are better things/deals in the market if you take the time to look around, esp looking at RE products. Shinobi is right though RF just makes their stuff SPL so they can sell things to the people who want to be cool. But I guess thats a good business plan, because they are making money.. right? I mean RF is one of the biggest car audio companies. I don't know though, so far I haven't had any problems with my RF subs/speakers.. just don't sound as great as some other things around..

Id rather get an HC, or SX or IDMAX. If you want something even better look at Magnum, Adire, XXX, H2. Those are just off the top of my head, there are many more brands.

RF has been around for a long time too.... thats one reason they are so big, I personally don't like them myself.

Ya, personally I have nothing against RF, its just that everyone else has RF and I'd rather have something just as good if not better that no one has ever heard of. Just another one of those Ford/Chevy, Coke/Pepsi deals..

Okay so no RF subwoofers then...

Well I was already looking into 2 other kind of subwoofers:

- 2x 12" Brahma's

- 2x 12" SI Magnum D2's

- 2x 15" SI Magnum D2's

The amplifier stays the same, cause I already OWN it (RF 1501BD (birthsheet says 1780W RMS @ 2 ohms).

Which of the above subwoofers would be the best choice for me? Considering I listen mainly to techno, (hard)trance and hardcore music. All which require a quick, tight and responsive bass output... So mainly SQ over SPL, though the last is also okay but I don't want to sacrifice SQ too much over SPL. Understand?

Also take the amplifier in consideration (RF 1501BD) which will power one of the above mentioned sets.

NO dont listen to these kids. Yes I said kids.

They have not heard all the subs they are recommending. They just go by hear say. I've herad the RF T2 subs They are friggen loud and clean for a SPL sub.

Any ways it's your own mind make the decission yourself. If you listen to all these internet geeks than thats your choice. Just go listen to the T2 personally and then decide.
