Maybe he likes having the "Feel" of bass without it being excessively loud? Personally I love the feeling of when the bass hits everything shakes and it's like a back massage, but maybe some people don't like having 140, 150+ db's in their ears. Just a thought

I don't know if this has been said or not.. but 75% gain is a tad high. Unless you've got like 2v preouts lol. I know 75% with my 8v preouts would explode errything in sight.
