New respect for Sundown Audio

So I own a SAZ-1500D and a pair of SA 12's.. Iv had them for about 2 months, slammed them every day all day, I do deliveries as a living and I wear ear plugs when I drive (not even kidding). When I installed my system I had lost my DMM in my last move and I didn't have an O scope. So I did the classic 75% gain and never went above 23 on my HU (max is 40). Today I finally found a legit car audio place in Colorado Springs.. I went to car toys first and asked about amp tuning and they got all confused. So I called around and found a place called Elite Audio Solutions... Anyway shortly after showing up and getting a tour of their shop they got the O Scope out and starting checking it. The SAs were taking a PERFECTLY square wave, for 2 months.. Every day all day, and didn't break a sweat, honestly I can hardly believe it. The guys there said if they clipped their show cars DC subs like that they would have been toast a long time ago (not to **** on DC, nothing but respect for them).. So we got my gain in line, and my SAZ-1500D makes a beautifully clean wave, producing 48 Volts @ 1Ohm.. That's 2350 Watts clean RMS (maybe 1700 after box rise lol thanks Kang and Taylor, still WOOO) .. That's amazing... Anyway to sum it up, I just might be a hard core nut-huger...

That rms seems a little high to me. I know they are underrated, but that seems a little excessive.
I know.. it actually confused me more than anything.. But it was O Scoped clean, and DMMd at 48 volts.. the amp is seeing 1ohm. Math says ~2350.. but it seems unrealistic to say the least lol

That's your power output assuming the amp is seeing an actual 1 ohm load, which it isn't. If you put an AC clamp on your speaker wire I bet you're gonna see a ton of box rise.

It's set at 48v. That has nothing to do with output. Solid amp, but it ain't doing 2,300@1.
its putting out 48V on a DMM with the subs playing a test tone.. What do you think the box rise could be, on average I assume ~1.5 maybe 2 ohm :| Fixed original post lol, props.. still.. **** yeah //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

You set it with the subs playing?
If you're lucky, it'll be ~ 2x rise. Which means that it's actually set for 1,150w.
We set it first with out the subs wired, then they tested with a dmm while the subs were on... Either way, any higher and i'm clipping like a boss.
