i was looking at RE series 12" ..so r this new style D4 subs any different from the old ... same power handling,... like i heard they r made in China ....

Looks like it uses the same motor and the soft parts just changed a little. I haven't tried the new ones, but the older ones were solid for the price.

I think the "updated" picture on RE's site is outdated.

Check out listings on eBay for the RE series and they have a completely different motor.

I have an older RE series back when TeamPSI was still there, great little driver, no clue on the new stuff though.
