Please forgive my ignorance but I thought (based on reading of links posted at this site in the stickies in the box section) that fleece had to be coverd with fiberglass as the fleece by itself was not enough. Is this incorrect?

that is correct, i believe Nick added a bunch of fiberglass to the inside of the enclosure (thus the cutting of the back)

but yes, fiberglass mat will strengthen the enclosure. an easy way to look at it is to consider the two types of forces, you have compressive forves, which push the material together, and expansive forces. the matt will help strengthen the expansive nature of the enclosure, keeping it from wanting to asplode. but a large majority of the overall strength and the compressive strength comes from the resin itself, the matt helps by holding more resin and adding expansive strength.

oh yes..hollis is right...i added layers of resin and mat on the inside of the enclosure

This cuts down on sanding VASTLY

In the first of many coats of primer..I've gotta go get a pack of glaze so i can cover the really small pin-holes and get some good Mar-Hyde high build primer..

Much more sanding and finishing work after this...

Off to UPS i go to work for the evening...

Looks good and I like your idea of glassing the inside of the box. How did you attatch the back of the box back to the rest of it?

stetched fleece over and blended into the seams (sp?) and put resin on the fleece..and kept sanding and adding layers of resin until it was mostly blended in..then i added some bondo glass (the brown looking stuff) and sanded/filled it...
