New PAP MOAB...PICS

ur an idiot, have you had any experience with a jackhammer?? yeah i thought so.dont make conclusions to a product you have no hands on experience about.
Not very many here have //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

Most of us wouldnt waste the money on the Jackhammer. I bet at somepoint in your life you have given advice on something you havent had hands on experiance with. Everyone does.

What's wrong with a single spider setup if it achieves the designer's objectives? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif
Im not a speaker designer, but I always thought multiple spiders helped avoid 'rocking' and helped keep motion linear. The Memphis LVS attempted to take this design feature to an extreme level by using multiple baskets to place multiple spiders very far apart.

In the right install the Jackhammer has been proved to be a monster. It is not practical for alot of people though, so you do not hear about it much. These vids do it more justice than that Pimp my ride show ever did.

Even those numbers aren't all that impressive, considering the cone area involved, and cost of the driver. But I agree its not the complete joke alot of people here think it is.

Especially with the half wall that guy is running.

Original post- Sub looks beast but if it only has a single 8" spider that sucks. needs more with a girdle.

This vid is a hell of alot more convincing than the Pimp My Ride episode, I do not know what the fvck MTX was thinking:rolleyes:
Yes, that video is more convincing to audio educated people, but for the random joe the pimp my ride episode was it.

What gets talked about more

Vids of Incriminator 21"

or Jackhammer

If you ask me the MTV episode was what made the jackhammer a legend.

This is very very true and thats exactly what MTX was thinking when they made their amps and jackhammer part of that episode. The show is called Pimp My Ride, not Big Systems or something of that nature.

But how many Jackhammers were actually sold though?? They prolli spent more money on R&D + building these(must of cost a pretty penny per driver) than money made by selling them.

All in all though, you cant deny that the Jackhammer did bring alot of exposure to MTX and thats exactly what they aimed to do. Just like the Audiobling 34" woofer and Clarion's 34 incher.

Never once did I say it didnt have potential. I was just stating most of us wouldnt spend the money on it. Remember most of CA = Cheap ***** (haha, it even works) including me.

Well, far be it from me to tell them how to design their drivers, but there must have been some criteria on which to base this build on. There are a few methods to minimize coil rocking - at least one of them is not readily noticable by simply looking at the outside of the driver. It is certainly possible one of these other methods could have been utilized.

To me, it simply doesn't make sense when statements are made about what a specific build has or doesn't have. Yes, I know, its the nature of the beast around these forums. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

If the build achieves the designer's goals, that's the important thing.

Best,

Mark

Wow. Im just diggin up the dirt. Im salty! I got a pair of WMD2's that were custom built using 3 spiders and guess what? The surrounds are literally being shredded by the edge of the CF cone. What do i do now? If i replace the surrounds, it just happens again. And the best PAP offered was to SELL me new recones with the same problem.

Send them a severed horse head, should get your point across:fyi:
