New Nissan Murano...

Anyone here own a Murano or know someone who does? My wife and I went to our local dealership and test drove one yesterday. Well she drove and I rode along. She is wanting to trade in her Solara convertible and wants a SUV/Crossover. The dealership had a 2012 with 90 miles on it for just under $33,000. After the rebates and trade-in the price is right around $23,000. It's fully loaded with the exception of navigation. It has dual power heated leather seats, heated steering wheel, Bose Sound, sunroof, back-up camera, etc.

My question is how reliable are they?

How well do they perform in the snow?

Do they need repaired frequently?

Any mechanics/owners/people familiar with the car please chime in!

I know a few people with the older ones that have had great luck and in general myself or anyone I know whos owned a nissan over the years has always had pretty decent luck. Only thing I hate about the new nissans is the CVTs //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I know several people who have Altimas and Rogues but no one who has a Murano. I didn't drive it but my wife loved it and said it road like her solara. The only thing she said about the transmission is that it shifts like her car. She liked the new Explorers also but she doesn't think she can pass up the deal. After all incentives the price drops from just under 40K to 29K. Then 5k for a trade in after the remaining note is paid off.

Nissans have been good to me. I drive an 08 Maxima right now but I've had an 03 Xterra and my dad had a 99 Pathfinder and a 96 Maxima. Never had a problem with any of them except for the damage I did myself on the Xterra.

I personally don't care for the looks of the Murano but she likes it and it will be her car. The interior is very nice but the exterior is a little blah. Its silver but maybe if it were black it would be a little different.

The new Pathfinders are ugly as **** though. I hate what they have done with it.

It looks like a crossover bred with a minivan. In now way, shape, or form does it resemble a SUV and I was very disappointed. When my wife said she wanted to go look at the Muranos I told her we should also check out the Pathfinders and when we got there I was like WTF is this? The new pathfinder made me sad.

I owned an 03, the first year it was out. The CVT ****** went twice in 50k. I traded it in when the 2nd was going. Mother in law has a 2010 model and doesn't seem to have any problems that I know of. It is a altima/maxima chassis, power is OK. I don't like the new style though, older looked better IMO. If she ever wants navigation you had better get it with it or be OK with a Garmin unit or something because you cannot replace the head unit at all. Recommended premium but its not a sports car and it won't make a fuel economy difference, you won't get knocking from using regular either

Pics of wife may help with in giving you a solid answer //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

I was wondering about that. This one doesn't come with navigation and isn't a necessity but we have a garmin if we need it.
