Happy Holidays everyone!

I am upgrading my sound system in my '05 KIA Optima and would like some suggestions on my setup.

Here is my parts list:

Alpine CDA-9855 HU

Alpine MRD605

Alpine MRV354

Kicker 02K69 6x9's

Kicker 05KS652 Comp's

Kicker Solo Baric L7 12"

Power Acoustik 3F Cap

KCA-420i Ipod adapter

SIR-ALP1 Sirius adapter

4 gauge power wire (x2), turn on lead, speaker wires, sirius antenna ant AI-net cables are all in place under the carpet.

I am not looking to win any audio competitions, just simply want a nice SQ system.

A couple of questions with this setup:

Will the MRD605 be enough power for the L7 Sub (Slot port box 2cu.ft.)?

Will I need to upgrade my alternator? If so, who makes aftermarket alternators for a KIA?

Thanks in advace for any comments and suggestions.

I was originaly looking at the Alpine SWR-1242D sub in a Qlogic QLH-1.2512SS Box.

I am doing the install with a friend who has a great deal of experience.

Thanks for the comment, do you have any suggestions?

with the kicker comps, you might not need the rear fills.... from what i heard, i took mines out for 6 months now, liked it better, but thats something you might wanna consider

if you already installed it, use the fader and put it all to the front and then start fading it back to the rears, im sure you'll hear that weird bass lingering around

The HU is in as well as Sirius. All other parts are in and awaiting install.

I would like some backfill (mabe turn down the gains on the rears?) with the setup.

Cap=scrapped.

if you're looking for strictly SQ, then you're way way off.

Start looking into more SQ oriented components from companies like boston acoustics, image dynamics, DLS, Seas (lotus line) Focal and Diamond.

and you might want to look more into forums dedicated to this kind of stuff, like diymobileaudio.com or elitecaraudio.com.

This forum is great for knowledge on SQL and SPL, but those forums I listed are strictly SQ forums.

The L7 should sound good with that amps in a very big ported box... but i would go with a more powerful amp like the kx600.1 which by the way is cheaper than the alpine.

I wanted to take advantage of the AI-Net function and be able to adjust the amps via my HU.

Is the Alpine MRD-M1005 too much for that sub? Money isnt really the issue here, I just want a nice sounding system.
