No dude

My intentions were not to 'own' him - being a smartass doesn't educate, i was very polite in my post, and 100% factual.

I want him to learn...you learn by making mistakes

I was the same way when i first got into car audio...then i started teach myself and also learning from others about acoustics, acoustical engineering...yadda yadda yadda

Yea right Nick. You're full of crap. You just wanted to make him cry, you bastard.

I want one for my car //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/present.gif.046205b11bb0957af93450bd4cc53e1b.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/silly.gif.3549b64aaa5b6729eb8e865319a3234f.gif

I'd bow, but I already knew that ... Plus I've heard you have a rather suspicious rash, so I wouldn't recommend anyone bow to you, at least at close proximity ...
got it from your mouth

actually size and materal have everything to do with the frequancy the resonate at have u ever hit a big window n it rumbles real low and then hit a small sheet of class ands its not as low and boomy well thats the same with subs so dont give me all ur technical crap

The 13W7 has a one-way linear Xmax of 32 mm, does it not ? Also, it didn't say Xmax, it said excursion ...No mention of Xmax at all ...

Xmax = Linear excursion, it doesn't necessarily limit excursion to the Xmax figure ... As Warbleed said, the 13W7 is capable of around 50 mm of excursion each way, albeit non-linear ... 50mm = 1.97" each way (almost 4" peak-to-peak), so that seems about right ...
So Warbleed is god now? I took information off of JL's website, they dont list Xmech because it doesn't matter. Xmax IS linear in the industry. The suspension may be able to move 50mm, but if its not gonna do it under power that doesn't do you any good. Brahma's can move a whole lot more than is listed on Xmax, but it wont be done under power.

The technical crap is what proved you wrong, which I'm guessing is technical crap you dont understand. It doesnt matter what noise it makes when you got thrown through a window, this is a speaker we're talking about. What happens when you put thick glass in that window, its the same area and it doesnt make a noise at all when you hit it except a tiny thud. Oh know, I just proved his retarded window theory wrong too!!!

It has an Xsus (linear SUSPENSION travel) on the 13w7, around 45mm for the 12w7. Xsus on the Brahmas is around 30mm, so it's downright idiotic to claim the Brahma's Xmech is even REMOTELY similar to the Xsus of the W7. At least be smart enough to compare apples to apples. Xmech on the W7 is even higher, but that wasn't what was being talked about.
Xsus (p2p) on the Brahma is about 2.4", vs about 3.9" on the 13w7. Hope that puts it in perspective for you.

Remember, Xsus and Xmech are NOT the same. Xsus is the point at which the suspension has dropped to 25% of the at rest compliance. Xmech is the mechanical limits of the driver. They CAN be the same, but they aren't necessarily.

What's the point of talking about how far past the xmax the W7's suspension can travel? It wont be linear. If so, we should start talking about all motor limited subs in this regard. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

In most installs, a suspension limited design (Brahma) or a motor limited design (W7) still needs to be compared with distortion being considered. Otherwise you are comparing apples and oranges.
