Hi guys. New wannabe car audio guy. I'm slowly transitioning from home audio to car audio.. and I know this will be hard.
Current ride is a 2005 E46 Coupe.
Current plan is:
1 - change all speakers to Rainbow IQ line, cheap direct drop in.
1.5 - Tiny bit of sound dampening with second skin sludge/spay like stuff. I really don't want to add too much weight, max of 25 lbs for the whole car in sound dampening... so I'll have to make sure it's all optimized.
2 - possibly upgrade current crappy HK amp to a nice clean 2 channel for the fronts and keep the current HK amp for rears/ambiance. All in a removable type system so I can pop the amp out easily for track days.
3 - Change HU to the new Kenwood audio hub like device + touchscreen. Either that or go car computer. Really wanted an easy double din, but with an E46 that means cutting into the HVAC. All removable of course except for the touch screen.
4 - Upgrade to some real speakers once I learn how to truly appreciate the improvement.
Hopefully I'll be able to accomplish all this in the next 2 years with all your help. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/*******.gif.a649d21efc0d1fd4890a6428166586c1.gif
And a single fun fact about me.... I'm a quality engineer for a home/consumer audio company! Hahahahahaha, time to develop my ears. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
