Hello, names Brandon. I'm new to the forum. Just want to learn a little more and decided to choose this forum. I have a few amps that have problems and hope that someone here can help me out.

My current system is a 1200w Powerbass 2ch. pushing Alpine type r 10" in a Fox Acoustic ported single 10 box in my 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab. It sounds ok but i think the powerbass isn't the right amp for this sub. The bass isnt clear, you can hear slight vocals and music. Looking to get this troubleshooted but the powerbass is just a stand in until i get my JL 500/1 amp back working right. i'll be posting about its problems soon.

You could just have the filters set wrong on the amp! I've seen it done but sometimes the amps just don't filter well anyways. When you post your amp problem, take a pic of your amp settings and we can help you determine if you have it right.

Yeah take some pics of the settings, you could possibly have it set for "through" instead of a low-pass filter, it happens!

Yeah i know. They are muffled like they are being filtered but not filtered well like skylinett mentioned. I have the amp set on LPF so thats right. I'm guessing its just the wrong amp for the sub. It would probably be better for mids or highs.

I had a similar box installed in my truck years ago, I oculd never get the response I wanted from it. I tried a million different subs, polyfill, different amps but nothing seemed to ever make it sound right. I ended up doing a custom enclosure between the front two seats and it was the right decision. Lots of output and clean sounding. The amp on the other hand, must be set wrong or the switch that switches the LPF/HPF is not working correctly.
